Dominant Performance in Ranji Trophy, Yet Hyderabad Not Releasing This Star!

Ahead of the upcoming IPL 2026 auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are reportedly making some bold decisions. Despite ongoing concerns about Mohammed Shami’s form and fitness, the franchise has decided not to release the veteran Indian pacer. In fact, SRH have rejected a ₹10 crore trade offer for him.

    বল হাতে রঞ্জিতে দাপুটে পারফরম্যান্স, এই তারকাকে ছাড়ছে হায়দরাবাদ!

Shami joined Hyderabad in the 2025 mega auction for ₹10 crore. However, that season turned out to be a disappointing one for him, as injuries and inconsistent form plagued his campaign. He played only 9 matches, taking 6 wickets at an economy rate of 11.23 — far below his usual standards.

Despite that, the SRH management has chosen to stand by him. They reportedly believe that Shami can regain his rhythm and perform like the match-winner he once was.

According to team sources, captain Pat Cummins and the support staff made it clear that Shami’s presence in the dressing room is invaluable. “His experience and leadership qualities are an inspiration for the younger bowlers,” said an SRH official.

The team already has other Indian pacers like Harshal Patel and Jaydev Unadkat, but Shami’s experience and skill with the new ball still make him indispensable.

While 2025 was a forgettable year for Shami, 2024 told a completely different story. That year, he won the Purple Cap with 28 wickets, marking one of the best seasons of his IPL career. SRH remains hopeful that, based on his recent performances in domestic cricket and his strong Ranji Trophy comeback, they will see the old Shami return in the next season.

So far, Shami has played 119 IPL matches, taking 133 wickets — a testament to his consistency and longevity. However, at 36 years old, his injury concerns and fluctuating form continue to pose challenges for Hyderabad. Still, SRH’s faith in experience over short-term form might just pay off this time.

Sudip–Shakir’s brilliance takes Bengal to 336, yet worries remain!

In the third match of the Ranji Trophy 2025, Bengal lost their advantage due to rain after a strong start with the bat. Despite Sudip Gharami’s century and Shakir Habib Gandhi’s 95-run knock, Abhishek Porel’s team ended Day 2 in a tricky position at 336/9.

    সুদীপ-শাকিবের দাপটে ৩৩৬, তবুও চিন্তার ভাঁজ বাংলার!

Play was interrupted by bad light on the first day. Bengal resumed Day 2 from 171/1, with Shakir and Sudip steadily building the innings. Shakir, however, fell for 95, just five runs short of a well-deserved century. At the other end, Sudip remained composed, bringing up a fine 108 off 250 balls, studded with 15 boundaries.

But once Sudip departed, Bengal’s batting collapsed. Veteran Anustup Majumdar (6), skipper Abhishek Porel (11), and Sumanta Gupta (5) fell cheaply, leaving Bengal struggling at 262/6.

Shahbaz Ahmed and Rahul Prasad then steadied the innings, adding 61 runs for the seventh wicket. Rahul scored 35, while Shahbaz continued to fight alone as wickets tumbled at the other end — Kaif went for a duck, and Shami for just 5.

Rain forced an early end to play, leaving Bengal on 336/9. For Tripura, Rana Dutta claimed three wickets, while Bikramkumar Das and Manishankar Murasingh took two apiece. Abhijit Sarkar and Swapnil Singh shared the remaining two.

After such a promising start, the collapse has left Bengal’s dressing room tense. With rain still a threat, Tripura will aim to grab the last wicket quickly and make a solid start with the bat on Day 3. Meanwhile, Bengal will hope Shahbaz can add a few more crucial runs to their total.

  • End of an Era, Star Cricketer Retires from T20s

End of an Era, Star Cricketer Retires from T20s

In a surprising move, New Zealand cricket shining star Kane Williamson has announced his retirement from T20 cricket, sending shockwaves through the cricketing world just four months ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup. The 35-year-old Williamson has had an outstanding career in 93 T20 internationals, establishing himself as New Zealand’s second-highest run-scorer with 2,575 runs at an average of 33, including 18 half-centuries.

    সকলকে চমকে দিয়ে টি-টোয়েন্টিকে ‘Good Bye’ তারকা ক্রিকেটারের

Making his T20 debut in 2011, Williamson captained New Zealand in 75 matches. Under his leadership, New Zealand reached the semifinals of the T20 World Cup twice (2016 and 2022) and the final once (2021). Williamson stated, “I have been a part of this format for a long time. Every memory and experience associated with it is very special to me. Now I feel it’s the right time for me and the team. This will give clarity for the upcoming series and the team’s next major goal, the T20 World Cup.”

He added, “We currently have very talented players in T20 cricket. In the coming period, it is crucial for these players to play more cricket and prepare for the World Cup. Mitch [Mitchell Santner] is an excellent captain and has managed the team very well. I will always support him from a distance.”

After the 2024 T20 World Cup, Williamson handed over white-ball captaincy to Mitchell Santner. Since then, he has played little international cricket, spending time in franchise leagues and with his family. Recently, he withdrew from the Chappell-Hadlee T20 series against Australia. He also missed matches against England due to a hamstring injury. However, he returned for the ODI series against England after the Champions Trophy final.

There is also curiosity about who Williamson will play with in the future. On November 26, he could play for Northern Districts in a Plunket Shield match against Auckland at Bay Oval. However, his primary focus is now on the three-match Test series against the West Indies, starting December 2 in Christchurch.

Williamson’s retirement announcement poses a new challenge for New Zealand cricket. Without his experience and leadership, the team’s progress will now depend on the new captain.

Arshdeep Singh Fire Sends Shivers Through Australia

Having been left out of the Asia Cup and benched in crucial matches, Arshdeep Singh faced his share of criticism. Many questioned why one of the team’s most reliable bowlers was being sidelined. But in Hobart, Arshdeep answered all doubts on the field. Given the opportunity, he showcased his confidence with every delivery.

    অর্শদীপের আগুনে কেঁপে উঠল অস্ট্রেলিয়া, কি ঘটল তারপর?

In the third T20I against the Aussies, the left-arm pacer returned to India’s playing XI. Captain Suryakumar Yadav, winning the toss, chose to field—a decision that proved immediately justified. Arshdeep set the tone right from the start, claiming two wickets in quick succession. Australia’s top order collapsed within 14 runs, as he dismissed Travis Head (6) and Josh Inglis (1).

Even Australia’s captain, Mitchell Marsh, couldn’t stabilize the innings, falling to Varun Chakravarthy. However, Tim David and Marcus Stoinis fought back under pressure, scoring 74 off 38 balls and 64 off 39 balls respectively, pushing Australia to 186/6 in 20 overs.

Yet, the star performer for India was undeniably Arshdeep. His bowling figures—4 overs, 35 runs, 3 wickets—showed how he put the opposition under pressure with consistent line and length from the very first ball. Varun Chakravarthy claimed 2 wickets, while Shivam Dubey chipped in with 1.

Arshdeep’s performance sent a clear message: losing faith is not an option. When given a chance, he knows how to don the national jersey with pride. On the field, his eyes reflected determination, his hands held fire, and every ball resonated with the spirit of revenge.

  • Top 5 Wicketkeepers Franchises Will Target in the IPL 2026 Auction

Top 5 Wicketkeepers Franchises Will Target in the IPL 2026 Auction

The IPL 2025 season delivered thrilling performances and high-voltage cricketing action, as players pushed their limits to take their franchises to new heights. With the IPL 2026 auction set to take place in mid-December, teams are now turning their attention to building stronger and more balanced squads for the upcoming season.

Among all the roles in a T20 setup, wicketkeeping stands out as one of the most strategic. A modern-day wicketkeeper must be agile behind the stumps and dynamic with the bat — capable of switching gears and changing games in crucial moments. Every franchise will be on the lookout for such multi-dimensional players in the 2026 mini-auction.

Here are the top five wicketkeepers likely to be in high demand at the IPL 2026 auction:

    1. Tim Seifert (New Zealand)

New Zealand’s Tim Seifert is known for his 360-degree stroke play and aggressive intent at the crease. His breakthrough came during the 2017 New Zealand domestic T20 competition, where he smashed a 40-ball century — a sign of his explosive potential.

Since making his international debut in 2018, Seifert has been one of the Kiwis’ most dependable wicketkeeper-batters in the shortest format. With a T20I strike rate of 142.52, he can attack from the first ball and adapt to various batting roles. Having played in several global T20 leagues, his experience and versatility make him a valuable target for IPL franchises in 2026.

    2. Sam Billings (England)

England’s Sam Billings brings a perfect mix of innovation, agility, and cricketing intelligence. A natural athlete, Billings has been a key performer in white-ball formats since making his international debut in 2015.

In the IPL, he has represented three franchises across 30 matches, contributing vital runs in the middle order. Recently, he has also led teams in tournaments like The Hundred and ILT20, showcasing his leadership credentials. His ability to adapt to different situations and balance wicketkeeping duties with batting makes him an ideal pick for franchises seeking a reliable all-round professional.

    3. Jonny Bairstow (England)

Explosive and fearless, Jonny Bairstow remains one of the most destructive wicketkeeper-batters in world cricket. He made his IPL debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in 2019 and instantly impressed, scoring 445 runs in just 10 matches and forming a lethal opening partnership with David Warner.

Bairstow later joined Punjab Kings (PBKS) in 2022 and most recently appeared for Mumbai Indians (MI) as a temporary replacement in IPL 2025, delivering impactful cameos. Known for his blistering starts and power-hitting in the powerplay, Bairstow will be a hot property at the 2026 auction, especially for teams seeking an aggressive opening wicketkeeper-batter.

    4. Narayan Jagadeesan (India)

Tamil Nadu’s Narayan Jagadeesan has steadily built his reputation as one of India’s most consistent wicketkeeper-batters in domestic cricket. Averaging 31.38 in T20s, he is known for his composure and ability to anchor innings effectively.

Although he has featured in only 13 IPL matches so far, his potential remains untapped. With the right role and consistent opportunities, Jagadeesan could emerge as a game-changing Indian wicketkeeper option, offering stability and flexibility at the top of the order.

    5. Urvil Patel (India)

At 27, Urvil Patel has quickly made waves in Indian domestic cricket as a fearless, hard-hitting wicketkeeper-batter. With a domestic T20 strike rate of 172.26, he impressed many during IPL 2025, when he was signed by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as an injury replacement.

In just three matches, Patel showcased his attacking flair with a staggering strike rate of 212.50, playing with both aggression and calmness under pressure. His bold approach, coupled with his ability to open the innings, makes him one of the most exciting emerging Indian talents heading into the 2026 auction.

Historic Chase Against the Aussies! India Reach ICC Womens World Cup Final

The sun was blazing, the stands were packed, and all eyes were on the ICC Womens World Cup 2025 semifinal — Australia vs India. Before walking out to bat, the Aussies thought that putting up a towering 338 on the board meant the game was as good as theirs. But Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Jemimah Rodrigues had other plans. In an unbelievable run chase, the Indian women scripted history to seal their place in the World Cup final.

    Litchfield–Perry’s Fireworks

After winning the toss and opting to bat, Australia lost Healy early. But then, the Litchfield–Ellyse Perry show began. Litchfield’s blistering 119 off 93 balls included 17 fours and 3 sixes, while Perry added a solid 77. Their 155-run stand for the second wicket had India on the back foot, and it looked like the match was slipping away.

However, the Indian bowlers fought back in the death overs. Shree Charani picked up 2 for 49, while Radha Yadav and Deepti Sharma struck crucial blows to restrict Australia to 338. Even Ashleigh Gardner’s 63-run blitz couldn’t push the score beyond India’s determined spirit.

    India’s Innings: A Dream Chase

Chasing 339 was no easy task. India suffered an early jolt when Shafali Verma fell for 10. But Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues steadied the innings. Mandhana departed for 24, but Rodrigues found a perfect partner in captain Harmanpreet Kaur.

Together, they launched a counterattack that stunned the Aussies. Harmanpreet’s confident 89, studded with 10 fours and 2 sixes, gave India momentum. She fell just shy of a well-deserved hundred, dismissed by Sutherland for 89.

Jemimah the “Ice Queen” Unbeaten 127

At the other end stood the calm and composed Jemimah Rodrigues. Even after being dropped on 82, she capitalized brilliantly, anchoring the innings with maturity beyond her years. With small but vital partnerships with Deepti Sharma (24) and Richa Ghosh (26), Jemimah guided India closer to the target.

Finally, alongside Amanjot Kaur, she saw India home. Jemimah remained unbeaten on 127 — a knock that will be remembered as one of the greatest in India’s women’s cricket history — and took her team to the World Cup final in stunning fashion.

  • Former star Appointed KKR Head Coach Ahead of IPL 2026

Former star Appointed KKR Head Coach Ahead of IPL 2026

Abhishek Nayar has been appointed as the head coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) ahead of IPL 2026. A senior source in the franchise confirmed the decision, with an official announcement expected soon.

Nayar succeeds Chandrakant Pandit, who served as head coach for three seasons, including KKR’s championship-winning campaign in 2024. Following a disappointing IPL 2025, where KKR finished eighth with just five wins, Pandit and the franchise parted ways earlier this year. Nayar’s appointment continues KKR’s recent trend of naming Indian coaches to lead the team.

At 42, Nayar is highly regarded for his modern, player-focused coaching approach. He has been part of KKR’s support staff for five years, except during the 2025 season, when his role was limited due to commitments with the Indian national team. Nayar also spent a year as an assistant coach with India and is credited with helping several players, including KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Rohit Sharma, achieve notable improvements. Rohit Sharma, in particular, has publicly acknowledged Nayar’s influence on his recent form.

Nayar will collaborate with KKR’s existing coaching team, including mentor Dwayne Bravo. The franchise is currently searching for replacements for former bowling coach Bharat Arun, who joined Lucknow Super Giants, and spin consultant Carl Crowe.

Before taking on the KKR head coach role, Nayar led the Women’s Premier League side UP Warriorz and previously served as head coach of Trinbago Knight Riders in CPL 2022. He also coached the KKR academy from 2018 and has been part of the main team’s support staff in various capacities.

During his time with KKR, Nayar built a strong working relationship with former mentor Gautam Gambhir, joining him briefly as an assistant coach with India before returning to KKR ahead of IPL 2025.

The KKR management is expected to continue revamping the backroom staff in the coming months to strengthen the team ahead of the next season.

  • Rohit Sharma Breaks Tendulkar Record Amid Speculation About Retirement

Rohit Sharma Breaks Tendulkar Record Amid Speculation About Retirement

Rohit Sharma has etched his name into cricketing history by becoming the oldest Indian cricketer to claim the top spot in the ICC ODI batting rankings. At 38 years and 182 days, Rohit surged two places to reach World No. 1 for the first time in his career, overtaking current India captain Shubman Gill. This milestone was a direct result of his spectacular performances during the recent ODI series against Australia, where he emerged as the leading run-scorer and was named ‘Player of the Series.’ Over three matches, Rohit scored a total of 202 runs at an astonishing average of 101, while Gill struggled, managing only 43 runs across the series.

In the latest ICC rankings, Rohit leads with 781 points. Gill dropped to third place, while Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran claimed the second spot with 764 points. Virat Kohli, who showed signs of revival with an unbeaten 74 in the third ODI, now sits sixth with 725 points. Shreyas Iyer, despite not batting in the third match, climbed to ninth in the rankings.

This achievement holds extra significance amid growing speculation about Rohit’s ODI future. With Gill taking over the ODI captaincy just before the series in Australia, many had wondered whether the veteran opener was nearing retirement in this format. Yet, Rohit’s sublime performances in Adelaide and Sydney, including two exceptional innings, demonstrated that he still has plenty to offer. Despite his success, he hinted that this might be his last tour of Australia. “Always love coming here and playing here. Fond memories of 2008. I’m not sure if we’ll be coming back to Australia, but we enjoy our cricket no matter what accolades we achieve,” he reflected.

Rohit’s rise to the top of the rankings also breaks a historic record. By claiming the No. 1 position at 38 years and 182 days, he surpassed Sachin Tendulkar, who last held the top spot in Tests at 38 years and 73 days in 2011, becoming the oldest batter ever to lead the ICC men’s ODI batting rankings. This marks Rohit’s first reign at the summit of the ODI batting charts — a remarkable achievement for a player in the latter stages of his international career. His 33rd ODI century, which also marked his 50th international century across formats, capped off a record-breaking series and reinforced his enduring class and consistency.

Rohit’s performance in Australia also saw him gain 36 rating points, moving from 741 to 781, which was enough to displace Shubman Gill from the top. Gill, who had been the No. 1 batter since late 2023, slipped to third, with Zadran taking the second position. Despite Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 74 in the final ODI, he dropped one place to sixth, while Shreyas Iyer rose to ninth.

This resurgence is especially remarkable given Rohit’s previous career-high of No. 2 during the 2019 World Cup, where he had amassed five centuries and reached a peak rating of 882 points. His recent tour of Australia added multiple new records to his illustrious career. He surpassed Virender Sehwag’s tally of 15,758 runs across formats as an Indian opener, achieving it in 11 fewer innings. He also equaled Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 45 international hundreds as an opener, second only to David Warner globally, and matched Tendulkar’s nine ODI centuries against Australia, though in just 49 innings compared to Tendulkar’s 70.

Additionally, his century in Sydney made him the second-oldest Indian to score an ODI hundred, behind Tendulkar, and extended his tally to 14 hundreds in SENA countries — the highest by any visiting batter in those conditions.

Rohit Sharma’s remarkable resurgence at an age when many players have retired not only highlights his extraordinary skill and fitness but also sets a new benchmark for longevity and consistency in modern cricket. His achievement as the oldest-ever ICC No. 1 ODI batter is a fitting testament to his enduring excellence and unwavering dedication to the sport.

  • India vs Australia : Record-Breaking Innings from SKY Despite Rain Disruption

India vs Australia : Record-Breaking Innings from SKY Despite Rain Disruption

After losing the ODI series, Team India was eager to make a comeback in the T20 series against Australia (India vs Australia). But the skies over Canberra had other plans. Heavy rain washed out the first T20 match on Wednesday. Repeated interruptions made it impossible to continue the game, and the umpires eventually called it off after 9.4 overs of India’s innings.

Australia won the toss and chose to bowl first. Under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, India came out to bat with several surprising selections. Senior players like Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma, Washington Sundar, and Arshdeep Singh were rested, giving young talents a chance to shine. With the cold and cloudy conditions in Canberra, swing and seam movement were expected, making batting a real challenge.

Abhishek Sharma, who was in great form during the Asia Cup, opened the innings but struggled against the Australian pace attack. Facing Nathan Ellis’s pace and movement, he managed 19 runs off 14 balls before getting out. After his dismissal, skipper Suryakumar Yadav walked in — under immense pressure after scoring just 100 runs in his previous 11 innings.

But this time, the old SKY seemed to be back. He began cautiously, scoring only 12 runs off his first 10 balls, before switching gears. The trademark aggression returned — elegant cover drives, fierce square cuts, and powerful pulls all flowed freely. During this innings, Suryakumar also reached the milestone of 150 sixes in international T20 cricket. He remained unbeaten on 39 off 24 balls when rain stopped play.

At the other end, Shubman Gill provided solid support, scoring 37 off 20 balls, including four boundaries and one six. The duo built an 85-run partnership in 9.4 overs before the rain returned — this time for good. Despite the ground staff’s best efforts, play could not resume, and the match was officially abandoned.

Even though the game was washed out, the biggest takeaway for India was undoubtedly Suryakumar Yadav’s return to form. He silenced critics with his composed yet explosive batting display. The team’s coaches and support staff were visibly pleased. With two matches remaining in the series, SKY’s regained confidence is expected to boost India’s momentum.

Australia, too, found positives in the match — particularly their pacers’ sharp spells and the young fielders’ athleticism.

Had it not been for the rain, the contest promised to be a thrilling one. Still, amid the dark clouds over Canberra, India found a bright ray of light — Suryakumar Yadav’s resurgence, a hopeful sign for the games to come.

India vs Australia Live : Australia win toss, opt to field against India in Canberra

Australia captain Mitchell Marsh won the toss and chose to field first in the opening T20I of the five-match series against India at Manuka Oval, Canberra, on Wednesday. (India vs Australia)

    Team Update:

India’s all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the first three T20Is. He is still recovering from a left quadriceps injury sustained during the second ODI in Adelaide and recently experienced neck spasms, which have affected his mobility. The BCCI Medical Team continues to monitor his progress.

During Super Cup How Indian Football Team to Play Exhibition Match Against Nepal?

    After the toss:

Mitchell Marsh said, “We’re going to bowl first. It’s a good surface, and Canberra usually offers a great wicket and a beautiful ground. The crowd is going to be fantastic, so I’m looking forward to it. Both teams like to play aggressive cricket. India is the number one-ranked side for a reason, so it’s going to be an exciting contest. With the World Cup approaching, all teams are preparing hard, and we’re keen to test ourselves against the best. As for our team combination, it’s simple—just a mix of batters, bowlers, and all-rounders.”

India captain Suryakumar Yadav said, “We were hoping to bat first because it looks like a good wicket. According to our analysts, there haven’t been many games played here, so the pitch might slow down in the second innings. We arrived three or four days ago to prepare, and despite the cold, it looks like a good day for cricket. Our players understand their roles well and enjoy the game. Picking the XI was a tough decision, but it’s a good problem to have. Some players missing out today include Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma, Washington Sundar, Arshdeep Singh, and Nitish Kumar.”

    Playing XI:

Australia: Mitchell Marsh (c), Travis Head, Josh Inglis (wk), Tim David, Mitchell Owen, Marcus Stoinis, Josh Philippe, Xavier Bartlett, Nathan Ellis, Matthew Kuhnemann, Josh Hazlewood

India: Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav (c), Tilak Varma, Sanju Samson (wk), Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakaravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah
