Arshdeep Singh Fire Sends Shivers Through Australia

Having been left out of the Asia Cup and benched in crucial matches, Arshdeep Singh faced his share of criticism. Many questioned why one of the team’s most reliable bowlers was being sidelined. In the third T20I against the Aussies, the left-arm pacer returned to India’s playing XI. Captain Suryakumar Yadav, winning the toss, chose to field—a decision that proved immediately justified. Arshdeep set the tone right from the start, claiming two wickets in quick succession. Australia’s top order collapsed within 14 runs, as he dismissed Travis Head (6) and Josh Inglis (1).

Even Australia’s captain, Mitchell Marsh, couldn’t stabilize the innings, falling to Varun Chakravarthy. However, Tim David and Marcus Stoinis fought back under pressure, scoring 74 off 38 balls and 64 off 39 balls respectively, pushing Australia to 186/6 in 20 overs.

Yet, the star performer for India was undeniably Arshdeep. His bowling figures—4 overs, 35 runs, 3 wickets—showed how he put the opposition under pressure with consistent line and length from the very first ball. Varun Chakravarthy claimed 2 wickets, while Shivam Dubey chipped in with 1.

Arshdeep’s performance sent a clear message: losing faith is not an option. When given a chance, he knows how to don the national jersey with pride. On the field, his eyes reflected determination, his hands held fire, and every ball resonated with the spirit of revenge.
