KKR had acquired Umran last IPL for a base price of only ₹75 lakh, but he couldn’t feature in matches due to injury. This time, the Jammu & Kashmir pacer is returning fully fit, and hopes are high—from the coaching staff to the fans—for his impact in the upcoming season.
Narine also mentioned that the team will certainly miss Andre Russell’s power-hitting, but Umran Malik’s pace-dependent bowling attack could fill that void. He added, “Towards the end of last season, he seemed very confident and strong. I believe he will handle the responsibility well.”
